Back To The Future...today
Updated: Aug 27, 2018

Maybe you remember Doc Brown at the in the Back To The Future movies. At the end of the first movie, Doc Brown returns from the future in his upgraded DeLorean, now powered by Mr. Fusion, a cold fusion garbage processing power generator.
Well, let me introduce you to emerging technologies that could take us in that direction. Imagine an energy plant that can be used to turn everything from your typcial trash dump junk into environment-friendly electricity.
Cold fusion is still a ways off, but where the real action can be found with pyrolisis, or the gasification of municipal waste, hospital waste, toxic waste, tires, used motor oil, old landfill....and zapping it with plasma to transform it into it's basic elements. You heard of the three states of matter: solid, liquid, and vapor. Well, there is a fourth state: plasma. The end result of zapping trash with plasma is syngas (a synthetic clean burning gas) that can power an electrical turbine, and voila...your landfill becomes a goldmine. Any leftovers from this process? Yep. Just a very small amount of nontoxic, rocklike slag that is can be mixed in to pavement materials to lower paving costs 30%, can harden drill bits, added to sandpaper and more.
